Ascensus Choose & Book Integration

Ascensus are able to provide a mechanism for GP’s in primary care to book appointments into your practice through the Extended Choice Network. We integrate our applications into the National Spine which enables EMMA to interface electronically with Choose and Book.

As part of Connecting for Health, all GPs will eventually have access to Choose and Book via compliant GP referral systems. This will allow them to provide a greater choice to their patients. A choice of between 4 and 6 hospitals will be made available to patients for their referral, and will contain at least one independent hospital or provider.

The EMMA Choose and Book Module is designed to allow healthcare providers the ability to define and publish services (groups of free EMMA clinic slots) to Choose and Book, and for GPs from across the country to choose and book appointments directly – the selected appointment being automatically entered into the corresponding diary.
