General Medical Clinics PLC is a well-established provider of primary care in the City of London and West End specialising in providing general practice, health screening services, occupational health programmes, physiotherapy, and nurse-led functions such as travel vaccinations.
The brief for their practice management system:
- 4 City based clinics with corporate in house clinics throughout the city
- Hundreds of corporate contracts, each with varying requirements
- Online booking for Healthscreens, Physiotherapy and GP/Nurse appointments with varying eligibility
- Monthly corporate billing
- Insurance company direct billing
- Central management & reporting of all centres
The Product:
Data from 2 different clinical systems and one paper practice was integrated providing one central patient database (PMS) that is accessible from any clinic.
Admin staff can cross book as well as manage in house clinics directly from any centre and clinicians can view their diary from anywhere.
Our eligibility system simplifies the booking process from a 7 minute phone call to a direct online booking by the patient who can only book what they are eligible to book thereby dramatically decreasing admin load and allowing the team to provide a marked improvement in customer service.
Billing can be performed centrally or at the centres allowing for more flexibility as the company grows and means that all the centres are always live and have access to the latest information.
As of Winter 2008, Genmed also now use EMMA to run a completely paperless practice in the West End with live lab links to HCA Labs, prescriptions and drugs databases and well as complete electronic clinical records with patient access and online booking. This is perhaps the most sophisticated private clinic in the UK and the benchmark by which all other private clinics will be judged.
