EMMA is a standalone system which is hosted in either our secure datacentre or another location of your choice

Ascensus Hosted

Our team have years of experience in designing secure, high performance server infrastructure and as such this solution is the default choice for most of our clients.

Ascensus use Sun Fire 64bit servers which are hosted in London's Telehouse datacentre. This is amongst the most secure hosting environments in the UK and features:

* 24x7x365 operation
* 24x7 on-site engineers
* Physical and electronic security at the highest levels throughout each site
* Standby systems to ensure no 'single point of failure'
* Regulated humidity within a constant range
* Primary cooling infrastructure, centrally managed and linked to BMS
* Three-stage fire detection systems in all plant and technical areas
* Access to multiple telecommunications providers


Automatic monitoring systems monitor the network infrastructure with engineers on call 24 hours a day.

Each client is provided with dedicated capacity on each server ensuring that your EMMA install is constantly performing at it's maximum.

We use automatic systems to proactively monitor the internal systems of each server to ensure that any system failure is alerted to our engineers and is also automatically rectified where possible. In the event of any kind of problem, these systems ensure that the correct steps are taken proactively to prevent it escalating to the stage where our clients experience an issue.

Backups are taken twice a day and are stored on an encrypted storage system in an secure secondary location. We keep backups in place for 3 months on a daily basis and these are tested regularly to ensure that they function correctly.

Upon request, we can also provide failover facilities for your server which means that in the event of a complete failure of your server, service is automatically resumed on a standby system. There is a small additional charge for this service.


Customer Hosted

Depending on the requirements of the customer, we can also provide standalone systems which live on your network. This may be the preferred solution in the case that you have particular requirements or would simply prefer to keep your data in house.

We provide a simple EMMA 'Application' which runs on any fast PC or Mac. We like the application to be granted at least 1GB RAM and a fast processor. Like any software application, the faster the machine running it, the better it will perform.

Note that in the case of a Customer Hosted solution, we rely on the customer to manage their own systems correctly and cannot support any part of the server outside of the application.
